Marquis of Granby Golf Society

No one seems to really know when Mr Vince Dunn actually started this great golf society - best guess in the mid 70's, in the middle of the Marquis heyday.

We do know that in 1998 Tony 'TW' Ward took over from Mr Old Harlow Dunn to lead the next generation of MoGGers. The society remains a fun society for all types of golfers (loosely speaking). The annual golfing calendar includes 5 Match days which are packed with several competitions such as COC, Ta Dah Cup, Shortest / Longest Drive / NTP and the infamous Green Jacket. Soon reaching its 10th year the MoGGs packs its golfing bag yearly and heads off to Dunston Hall for annual KOK.

The MoGGs would not be a massive success if people like Johnnie Walpole, Brett Trevillion and Colin Morgan where not apart of the organisation. The committee is a closed shop with life peerage for Sawyer and Hurley Ward guided by the 'Self Appointed One' (SAO) Tony 'TW' Ward normally with doggie treats that ensures the correct decisions are upheld. The MoGGs motto is 'If you dont like it f**k off somewhere else' followed by 'your round'. And not forgetting ' Keep Your Head Down'.
